Course objectives:
|
The goal of this course is to expand students' knowledge of research approaches to solving advanced problems in medical informatics, especially, those being solved by research groups at UWB.
|
Requirements on student
|
In order to pass the course, a student must:
- actively participate on at least 2/3 seminars (activity means asking qualified questions and making relevant contributions to the discussions, for which the student may need to self-study the material provided by lecturers),
- analyse and compare two or more approaches to the given research problem, e.g., based on self-study of key textbook, or 3 research papers,
- and present the summary of obtained information on the seminar.

The seminar consists of lectures whose syllabus is published annually by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering prior to the start of the semester.

Knowledge - students are expected to possess the following knowledge before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
orientovat se anatomicky v lidském těle na úrovni středoškolských znalostí |
charakterizovat elektrofyziologické procesy probíhající v lidském těle |
popsat vlastnosti nejčastěji používaných diagnostických a vyšetřovacích metod (např. CT, MRI, PET, EKG, EEG), tj. na co ta či ona metoda je vhodná, jakou strukturu a charakter mají data pocházející z těchto metod |
charakterizovat datové formáty a struktury používané pro uchovávání strukturovaných i nestrukturovaných dat |
popsat základní statistické metody testování hypotéz v případě normálního rozložení |
vysvětlit principy polynomiální interpolace a aproximace dat a definovat základní metody používané pro tyto účely včetně metod regresních |
vysvětlit význam redukce dimenze vícerozměrných dat, vyjmenovat metody k tomu určené, detailněji popsat metodu hlavních komponent (PCA) |
Skills - students are expected to possess the following skills before the course commences to finish it successfully: |
analyzovat popsaný algoritmus z hlediska jeho výpočetní a paměťové složitosti, nároků na další zdroje, apod |
implementovat v libovolném programovacím jazyce algoritmus dle jeho popisu s využitím dostupných knihoven |
přečíst a pochopit odborný text napsaný v anglickém jazyce (tj. čtení na úrovni C1) |
